Drew was born at Jewish Hospital (now Einstein Northern) in Philadelphia in 1947, and then was taken to his first home on M Street in Kensington.  After several family moves ending in Levittown, Drew graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1965.  He graduated from Bucknell University (BA in English Literature) in 1969, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1972, and received his Doctor of Ministry from McCormack Theological Seminary in 1981.  His 300 page thesis was completed in Family Violence and Sexual Abuse and resulted in the opening of the first state certified shelter for battered women and children in upstate New York, the S.O.S. Shelter, Inc.  During this time he was appointed to and served on the Governor’s Task Force on Domestic Violence.

Drew retired five years ago after 42 years in the full-time pastoral ministry, serving in four churches ranging from Endicott, New York to Arlington, Virginia and in both the Flourtown and the Glading Memorial churches in the Philadelphia Presbytery.  Since then he has served both as the Interim Minister at the Overbrook Presbyterian Church and then as the Interim Associate Pastor for Older Adults and Pastoral Care at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.  Drew resides now in the Abington area with his wife of 49 years, Meg (who herself is a Presbyterian minister and the retired Pastor of the Fox Chase church).   They have one daughter, Ryan, who is an active Elder at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill.
