Cub Scout Pack 147

Our church sponsors both Cub Scouts (1st-5th graders) and Boy Scouts (6th-12th graders). Cub Scouts meet once a month on a Friday evening, usually at Holland Elementary School, as well as regularly scheduled meetings with their own den.

Pack 147 is made up of boys, ages 6 to 11, that have taken a promise to do their best, to do their duty to God and their country, and to help other people.

The Cub Scout follows Akela…. Akela is synonymous with leader. Whether at home, in school, at church, or during scout activities, the scouts have shown respect to those that have helped guide them. To become a leader one must first learn to follow. The Cub Scouting program is dedicated in preparing the boys to become Boy Scouts and future leaders in our community. With regular volunteers and much support from the scout parents, the boys have a wealth of knowledge and experience from caring individuals to learn from.

The scouts set personal goals as well. Through an achievement system, where the boys work hard to advance through different ranks, obtain belt loops and pins for academics and sports, and earn religious emblems – self-esteem flourishes. Scouting comes with a capital F for FUN. The Pack has many great family activities throughout the year, which included:

• Den Meetings
• Monthly Themed Pack Meetings
• Pinewood Derby
• 3 Yearly Weekend Camping Trips
• Go-See-It Field Trips
• Sleepovers at the Battleship New Jersey and Trenton Thunder Game
• Blue & Gold Banquet
• Pack Movie Night, Skating Party, and Swim Night
• Scout Family Picnic
